1. クリスマス会についての説明とお願い事項（園長先生・クリスマス委員）
【園長先生より】
> 皆様で参加し力を合わせて、皆様で楽しむというのが、いつもの私共のクリスマス会の趣旨です。 職員だけではとても回っていかない会ですので、皆様のお力添えが要ります。できるだけプログラムがスムーズに進むようにご協力いただけたらと思いますので、よろしくお願いします。
> また、当日は、写真を撮るより、できるだけ子供たちに拍手をしていただきたいと思います。
> 今年はカレンダーの関係で、どのクラスも本当に練習時間が少ないなかで頑張っているので、ぜひ、いっぱいの拍手をしてあげて欲しいと思います。
【当日のスケジュール】

【会場へ到着したら】
> 保護者の方は、Elm St沿いSan Gabriel Blvd側の教会後方の入口からお入りください。
> 入口のすぐ右側に置いてあるアテンダンシートに必ずサインをして下さい。子供たちがサンタさんからプレゼントを受け取ったかどうかの確認のため、サインインは重要になります。さくら組は、通常どおり、園の入り口でのサインナップとなります。
> 教会内には機材が置いてあり、大変危険なため、子供たちの動きにご注意ください。
> ご不明な点がありましたら、サンタ帽をかぶったクラスマザーや役員にお声がけください。
> プログラムや処々のお願い事項を、プロジェクターで壁にも映し出しますので、ご覧ください。
【座席について】
> クリスマス礼拝時は、皆様のお席は自由席となっています。さくら組以外の保護者の方は、お子様と一緒に来ていただき、どこの席でも空いている所にお座り下さい。（自由席）
> パフォーマンス時は、クラスごとに指定されたスペースに座っていただきます。普段、園への送迎をしていない保護者や親戚がいらっしゃる際は、席がわかるよう、園児のクラス名をお知らせください。
> 複数のクラスを取っている方は、年少年中のどちらで出るか、園またはクラスマザーにご確認ください。
【献金について】
> クリスマス会のプログラムに献金袋を入れてあります。その献金は、1年に一度、教会の方へ捧げる献金です。
> チェックの宛先は、「こどもの家」ではなく、「First United Methodist Church」または「First UMC」にしていただくか、ブランクにしていただけますようお願いします。
> 礼拝の際に、献金の時間がありますので、その時にしていただけたら一番いいと思います。
【さくら組の聖劇について】
> 聖劇後、園内で園児の着替えが終わり次第、どんどん外に出しますので、保護者の皆様は園庭に迎えに来て下さい。
> 園内や園庭の混雑を避けるため、できるだけ早く、お子様をリフレッシュメント会場へ連れて行っていただけたらと思います。
【リフレッシュメント】
> クリスマス委員がリフレッシュメントを用意させていただきます。テーブルがコの字になっていますが、どのテーブルでも同じものをサーブしています。
> 子供たちがリフレッシュメント会場で走り回らないよう、保護者の皆様のご協力をお願いします。
> 皆様に作って頂いているオーナメントは、2つのクリスマスツリーに分けて飾ります。それぞれのツリーにクラス名が表示してありますので、お楽しみいただけたらと思います。
> 雨が降った場合、リフレッシュメントはホールで、子供が集まる場所は、その2階の教室に上がって確認の後、入場となります。
【リフレッシュメント後】
> リフレッシュメント終了10分前までに、園児のトイレをお済ませください。
> 10時半までには、先生方、クラスマザーの指示にならい、各クラスの列にお並びください。
> 教会内は飲食禁止であるため、お菓子や飲料のお持ち込みはお避け下さい。
> 教会への入場は、年長、年中の後、年少組の順になります。
【年少のお子様への対応】
> 年少のお子様が保護者の方と離れがたく、泣いてしまった場合には、列の後ろへ回り、できるだけ列がスムーズに流れるようにご配慮いただけると幸いです。
> 年少組は、教会に入ってそのまま舞台へ上がります。お母様はお子様を見送られた後、後方の入口から入り、年少組の席にお座り下さい。
> パフォーマンス前にお子様が泣いてしまった場合、なるべく袖の方で、保護者の方がお子様と一緒に参加していただければと思います。楽しい想い出にしていただくことが一番なので、あまり無理はなさらず、来年、スムーズに出られるようになることを待っていただくのがいいと思います。
> 年少組の演奏が終わると、保護者の元へ帰りますので、皆様のお席を知らせてあげてください。席に戻った後は、保護者と一緒に残りのパフォーマンスを見ていただきますので、「離れるのは少しの間だけだからがんばって」と伝えていただけたらと思います。
【サンタさんからのプレゼント】
> さくら組のパフォーマンス後、サンタクロースが登場します。
> サンタさんとの面会順序は年中、年長、年少、未就園児。年少組は、途中でプレゼントを開けてしまわないよう、持っている時間を短くするために最後になっています。
> クラス毎にアナウンスがあり、園児は両サイドの通路を通ってステージに上がり、プレゼントをもらったら、中央の通路を通って元の席に戻ります。
> 未就園児の方にもサンタさんからプレゼントがあります。保護者の方と一緒に、上記と同じルートでプレゼントをいただいてください。
> プレゼントは、開けてしまうとバラバラになってしまい、名前が書いていないために誰のものか分からなくなってしまうので、家に帰るまで開けないようご注意下さい。
【会の終わり】
> 最後に園歌を歌って、きちんと挨拶をして終わりにしたいと思いますので、最後まで残っていただけると幸いです。
【お帰りの際にお持ち帰りいただくもの】
① ツリーに飾られている手作りオーナメント
② サンタさんからのプレゼント
③ 教室に展示されている作品（複数クラスを取ってるお子様は各クラス）。場所がわかるように案内を教室の入り口に貼っておきますので、ご参照下さい。
> 作品は取りにくいので、子供ではなく保護者の方が取るようにして下さい。
【写真撮影について】
> 当日、ビデオ・写真ボランティア以外の一般の保護者の方々には、聖壇の前での撮影や、席から立って、または通路からの写真・ビデオ撮影はご遠慮いただいています。
> 各パフォーマンス終了後に、クラスごとに写真撮影の時間を設けています。少ない時間で皆様に平等に撮影していただけるよう、撮影が終わった方は、両脇の通路より、お席にお戻りいただけますようお願いします。スムーズな流れになるよう、ご協力お願いします。
> なお、写真係の撮影写真は、後日ダウンロードできるリンクをお送りします。
【写真日について】
> クリスマス会当日は、皆様にパフォーマンスを楽しんでいただき、子供たちにできる限りの拍手を送っていただきたいため、パフォーマンス中の写真・ビデオ撮影は禁止とさせていただいています。そのため、クリスマス会前に下記のとおり、写真日を設けます。できるだけ、この日にドレスなどの正装で登園するなどし、撮影していただけますようお願いします。

３. 餅つき委員より
> 日時：2017年1月8日（日）午後1時〜午後3時半（餅がなくなり次第終了）
> 2時からは、太鼓パフォーマンスが行われます。パフォーマンス中はお餅つきを中断します。
> 雨天は、ホールにてお餅つきを決行。太鼓はキャンセル、または、ステージの上でのパフォーマンスを考慮します。
> お餅つき大会について広く知っていただき、新しい方に来てほしいので、日本文化に触れる機会として、フライヤーを現地校や友達に配るなどして宣伝してください。
> ドネーションのご協力、ありがとうございました！
【ボランティア・サインアップについて】
> 多くの保護者の皆様、ボランティアのご協力ありがとうございます。
> 現在、ボランティアの皆様には、オンライン・サインナップをお願い中です。サインアップに際しては、メールでお送りした役職の説明をよく読んでいただき、ご希望の仕事をお選びください。
> 各部署の定員が決まっているため、上限人数に達した際には、役職の調整をさせていただきますことをご了承ください。
> 当日のボランティアの際には、お子様はなるべくお連れにならないようにお願いします。
> 当日は、仕事開始時間の15分前に集合願います。
４．その他
> 【クリスマスDVD】DVD3ドル、Blu-ray4ドルで、お申し込みを受付中。12/16（金）のクリスマス会前日が締切です。お申し込みは、用紙と現金を封筒に入れて、アテンダンスシート横の箱へ投函下さい。
> 【第二回お気持ちweek 】1月下旬または2月上旬に開催を検討中。詳細は追ってお知らせします。
５．ファンドレイズ（代理：大神さん）
> 色々ご協力いただきましてありがとうございます。
> スクリップも、お手元に届いていると思います。
> 事務室に、多めに購入したギフトカードが置いてありますので、クリスマスギフトや個人でご利用になられる方は、事務室へお立ち寄り下さい。ガソリン（76, Arco, Chevron）、シーズキャンティー、Sprouts、Vons、スターバックス、ターゲットもあります。
> 春にカタログ販売を予定しています。また、ご協力をお願いします。
６．園長先生より
> 12月は皆さんがそれぞれにお忙しい上に、クリスマス会や餅つき大会の準備等で本当に申し訳ないと思っています。どうかよろしくお願いします。
> 子供達が楽しみにしているクリスマス会が、喜びのうち速やかに進みますように、どうぞ皆さまお一人お一人のお力をお貸し下さいますようにというのが、園から皆さまへのお願いと気持ちです。それが皆さんの心に伝わるように、どうかご協力いただけたらと思います。
> お忙しい中ですので、お身体に気を付けて頂いて、皆さん健康でこの日が迎えられるようにしたいと思います。どうかよろしくお願いします。

2016 4th Class Parent Meeting Notes
1. Christmas Show: Information and Requests (Encho Sensei and the Christmas Committee)
[From Encho Sensei]
* The KNI Christmas Show is an event where parents and KNI staff combine our efforts to create an enjoyable show. We need your support to hold such an event which cannot be run only by teachers. We sincerely ask collaboration from parents as well as guests during the show, so that the event will run smoothly. For the sake of the children we ask for your full support in this matter.
* On the day of the event, please focus on watching and applauding the children, rather than taking pictures. The children are always happiest when the parents are giving them their full attention.
* We have less practice hours this year due to the calendar, but children are doing their best practicing. Please give them a warm applause!
[Schedule of the Event Day]
9:00-10:00 Christmas Service @ Main Sanctuary
* Christmas Message from Pastor Sharon.
* Christmas Tithing (Offerings will go directly to the church. Please use envelopes provided in the program.)
* Christmas Pageant by Sakura gumi.
10:00-10:30 Refreshments (in the parking lot in front of the church hall) 10:30-12:00 Christmas Performance (Main Sanctuary)
* Children from each class will sing and perform musical numbers (Younger class will perform first)
* Santa Claus giving gifts to the children
* All children will sing KNI song
* Closing remark
[On Arrival]
* Please use the rear entrance facing Elm Street, near San Gabriel Blvd when entering the Main Sanctuary.
* Please make sure to sign in using the attendance sheet located at the entrance of the sanctuary. Sign-in is MANDATORY. We will use this sheet as reference for presents given to children. Sign-up for Sakura children will be at the KNI gate as usual.
* Recording/audio equipment will be installed inside the Church. Please keep eyes on your children so that they won’t get injured.
* If you have any questions, please feel free to ask KNI board members or Class Mothers (wearing Santa hat).
* The event programs and other reminders will also be projected on to the walls.
[Seating Arrangement]
* During the Christmas Service (9:00-10:00), all seats are available. Anyone except Sakura children and their parents can seat anywhere (free seating).
* There will be assigned seating during the children’s performance. Please inform guardians and guests the class name of your child, so that they know which assigned section they need to be seated.
* If your child belongs to several classes and you are not sure in what class he/she performs, please contact KNI or Class Mothers for information.
[Christmas Tithing]
* You will find Christmas tithing envelopes inside the Christmas Program. This donation will be offered directly to the Church, and it only happens once a year.
* If you would like to include a check in this envelope, please make it payable to “First United Methodist Church” or “First UMC”.
* There will be a moment for collection during the Christmas service. Please take this time to offer your donation.
[Christmas Pageant by Sakura gumi]
* After the pageant, Sakura-gumi children will be outside KNI as soon as they finish taking off the costume. Please come to KNI to pick up your child.
* In order to avoid congestion, please take your child promptly to the refreshment venue (at the parking lot in front of the church hall).
[Refreshments]
* Christmas Committee will provide refreshments during intermission (10:00-10:30). There will be several tables installed for serving, but each table will serve the same items.
* Please make sure your children won’t be running around at the venue. We appreciate your cooperation.
* The hand-made ornaments will be decorated on the two Christmas trees. Each tree has a display showing the class names; please find yours and enjoy!
* In case of rain, refreshments will be served inside the church hall. Also, children will gather at a classroom on the 2nd floor. We will first check the number of children and they will then enter the church for their performance.
[After the Intermission (refreshments)]
* Please make sure that children use the restroom 10 min before the beginning of the following session.
* Please form a line for each class following instructions by KNI teachers and the Class Mothers.
* Please refrain from bringing any food or drink inside the church.
* First Sakura, then Ume and Kiku gumi will enter the church.
[For Small Children]
* If your child is crying please go to the end of the line and let others pass first. We appreciate your cooperation so that other children can enter the church smoothly.
* When entering, the lower grades (Renge, Momo, and Sumire) will go on the stage directly. After parting, parents/ guardians shall enter the sanctuary from the back entrance. There will be designated seats available for the younger class parents. Please find the place and take seat.
* Every year on the day of the event, there are some children who cry and refuse to be separated from their parents/guardian. In such cases, parents may enter the stage. What is most important is to make this event a good memory. So, no need to force your child to perform; we can wait for another year for him/her to be able to perform happily.
* After their performance, the lower grade children will return to their parent/guardian. Please let them know where you are. After coming back to the seat, they will stay with you through the remaining show. So, please encourage your child that you will see them soon when they prepare for their performance.
[Presents from Santa Claus]
* After Sakura-gumi performance, Santa Claus will appear.
* The order of gift giving will be as follows: Kiku & Ume, then Sakura, Momo, Renge, Sumire.
* There will be an announcement calling each class group. Students will line up in one of the two side aisles of the sanctuary, and climb up on stage, then receive their gift. They will return to their seats using the center aisle.
* Toddlers not yet in school may also receive a gift. These younger children should go with their parent/guardian, using the same route as the older children.
* Please make sure that children wait until they get home to open their gifts. Once opened, it is hard to tell to who it belongs to, since there is no name on the gift.
[End of the Show]
* The Christmas Show’s ending remark will be after children singing KNI song. Please remain in the church until the end of the event, and join the song!
[Things to Be Taken Home]
* Hand-made Christmas ornament on the Christmas tree.
* Present from Santa Claus.
* The Christmas crafts the children made, which will be in the classroom. If your child is in more than one class, make sure you take a craft from each class s/he is enrolled in. We will post where each class’ crafts will be located.
* The crafts are difficult for the children to retrieve. Please make sure to help your child to get his/her crafts.
[Photo Shooting During the Event]
* Except KNI Video/Photo volunteers, photo shooting and/or video recording of the event are prohibited during performance. Please do not take photos standing from your seat, from the aisle, or in front of the stage.
* We have a small window of time for the photo shooting after each performance. In order for everyone to be able to take photos, please go back to your seat using the side aisle promptly when you are done. Thank you for your cooperation.
* Photos that are taken by the volunteers will be available for download. The link will be sent in the days to follow.
[Picture Taking Day]
* On the day of the event, we encourage families to focus on enjoying the children’s performance and greeting them with your rapt attention and warm applause. To this end we strictly prohibit photography and videography during performance. Instead, we invite parents to come to the final dress rehearsal to take as many picture and video as you wish. We encourage children to dress up on this last rehearsal so parents can take photos and video.

3. From Mochi Festival Committee
Date: January 8, 2017 (Sunday) 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. (or until mochi runs out)
* At 2 o’clock, there will be a Taiko performance. There will be no mochi making during the performance.
* In the event of rain, the mochi festival will take place in the church hall. The Taiko festival may be canceled or, if possible, the performance may take place on stage.
* We would love for the mochi festival to be well attended. Please advertise this fun Japanese cultural event by posting flyers at your child’s local school. Make sure to invite friends and family!
* Thank you, everyone, for your donations!
[Re: Volunteer Sign up]
* To the many parent volunteers: we thank you so much for your energetic support.
* We are currently asking volunteers to sign up for specific jobs on-line. Please read the description of jobs that was emailed to you, then choose your desired volunteering position.
* Please note: There is a set number of volunteers needed for each position. If we reach a maximum number of volunteers for specific jobs we may need to move people to other positions.
* For volunteers working the day of the event: children are highly discouraged from coming with you to your assigned shift.
* For volunteers working the day of the event: please arrive 15 minutes prior to your shift.
4. Miscellany
[Christmas DVDs]
* Currently taking orders: DVD: $3, Blu-ray: $4. The deadline is 12/16 (Friday), the day before the Christmas. To order, place order form and money (cash only, please) in an envelope, then place in the appropriate box, located next to the attendance sheet.
[Second Mini-Rummage Sale]
* Planned for the end of January or the beginning of February. More details to follow.
5. Fundraising
(Proxy: Ms. Ogami)
* Thank you for your continued support and effort.
* You should already have received your Scrip cards.
* We have purchased extra cards. So if you would like a card for gifting, or for yourself, please stop by the office. We have: Gas (76, Arco, Chevron), See’s Candy, Sprouts, Vons, Starbucks, and Target.
* We are also preparing for the catalogue sale fundraising in spring. We hope to have your support on this occasion.
6. From Encho Sensei
* Everyone is undoubtedly busy in December. We are sorry to have to add to everyone’s already busy schedules with preparation for the Christmas Show and the Mochi Festival. We thank you in advance for all of your efforts.
* It is our deepest hope to have a smooth and successful Christmas Show that lives up to the children’s excitement and expectation by combining the love and effort of each and every KNI family. We pray that you will all join me in creating a memorable experience together.
* We hope the children and their families take especially good care of their health during this busy time.

> さくら組のパフォーマンス後、サンタクロースが登場します。
> サンタさんとの面会順序は年中、年長、年少、未就園児。年少組は、途中でプレゼントを開けてしまわないよう、持っている時間を短くするために最後になっています。
> クラス毎にアナウンスがあり、園児は両サイドの通路を通ってステージに上がり、プレゼントをもらったら、中央の通路を通って元の席に戻ります。
> 未就園児の方にもサンタさんからプレゼントがあります。保護者の方と一緒に、上記と同じルートでプレゼントをいただいてください。
> プレゼントは、開けてしまうとバラバラになってしまい、名前が書いていないために誰のものか分からなくなってしまうので、家に帰るまで開けないようご注意下さい。
【会の終わり】
> 最後に園歌を歌って、きちんと挨拶をして終わりにしたいと思いますので、最後まで残っていただけると幸いです。

2016 4th Class Parent Meeting Notes
1. Christmas Show: Information and Requests (Encho Sensei and the Christmas Committee)
[From Encho Sensei]
* The KNI Christmas Show is an event where parents and KNI staff combine our efforts to create an enjoyable show. We need your support to hold such an event which cannot be run only by teachers. We sincerely ask collaboration from parents as well as guests during the show, so that the event will run smoothly. For the sake of the children we ask for your full support in this matter.
* On the day of the event, please focus on watching and applauding the children, rather than taking pictures. The children are always happiest when the parents are giving them their full attention.
* We have less practice hours this year due to the calendar, but children are doing their best practicing. Please give them a warm applause!

9:00-10:00 Christmas Service @ Main Sanctuary
* Christmas Message from Pastor Sharon.
* Christmas Tithing (Offerings will go directly to the church. Please use envelopes provided in the program.)

[On Arrival]
* Please use the rear entrance facing Elm Street, near San Gabriel Blvd when entering the Main Sanctuary.
* Please make sure to sign in using the attendance sheet located at the entrance of the sanctuary. Sign-in is MANDATORY. We will use this sheet as reference for presents given to children. Sign-up for Sakura children will be at the KNI gate as usual.
* Recording/audio equipment will be installed inside the Church. Please keep eyes on your children so that they won’t get injured.
* If you have any questions, please feel free to ask KNI board members or Class Mothers (wearing Santa hat).
* The event programs and other reminders will also be projected on to the walls.
[Seating Arrangement]
* During the Christmas Service (9:00-10:00), all seats are available. Anyone except Sakura children and their parents can seat anywhere (free seating).
* There will be assigned seating during the children’s performance. Please inform guardians and guests the class name of your child, so that they know which assigned section they need to be seated.
* If your child belongs to several classes and you are not sure in what class he/she performs, please contact KNI or Class Mothers for information.
[Christmas Tithing]
* You will find Christmas tithing envelopes inside the Christmas Program. This donation will be offered directly to the Church, and it only happens once a year.
* If you would like to include a check in this envelope, please make it payable to “First United Methodist Church” or “First UMC”.
* There will be a moment for collection during the Christmas service. Please take this time to offer your donation.
[Christmas Pageant by Sakura gumi]
* After the pageant, Sakura-gumi children will be outside KNI as soon as they finish taking off the costume. Please come to KNI to pick up your child.
* In order to avoid congestion, please take your child promptly to the refreshment venue (at the parking lot in front of the church hall).
[Refreshments]
* Christmas Committee will provide refreshments during intermission (10:00-10:30). There will be several tables installed for serving, but each table will serve the same items.
* Please make sure your children won’t be running around at the venue. We appreciate your cooperation.
* The hand-made ornaments will be decorated on the two Christmas trees. Each tree has a display showing the class names; please find yours and enjoy!
* In case of rain, refreshments will be served inside the church hall. Also, children will gather at a classroom on the 2nd floor. We will first check the number of children and they will then enter the church for their performance.
[After the Intermission (refreshments)]
* Please make sure that children use the restroom 10 min before the beginning of the following session.
* Please form a line for each class following instructions by KNI teachers and the Class Mothers.
* Please refrain from bringing any food or drink inside the church.
* First Sakura, then Ume and Kiku gumi will enter the church.
[For Small Children]
* If your child is crying please go to the end of the line and let others pass first. We appreciate your cooperation so that other children can enter the church smoothly.
* When entering, the lower grades (Renge, Momo, and Sumire) will go on the stage directly. After parting, parents/ guardians shall enter the sanctuary from the back entrance. There will be designated seats available for the younger class parents. Please find the place and take seat.
* Every year on the day of the event, there are some children who cry and refuse to be separated from their parents/guardian. In such cases, parents may enter the stage. What is most important is to make this event a good memory. So, no need to force your child to perform; we can wait for another year for him/her to be able to perform happily.
* After their performance, the lower grade children will return to their parent/guardian. Please let them know where you are. After coming back to the seat, they will stay with you through the remaining show. So, please encourage your child that you will see them soon when they prepare for their performance.
[Presents from Santa Claus]
* After Sakura-gumi performance, Santa Claus will appear.
* The order of gift giving will be as follows: Kiku & Ume, then Sakura, Momo, Renge, Sumire.
* There will be an announcement calling each class group. Students will line up in one of the two side aisles of the sanctuary, and climb up on stage, then receive their gift. They will return to their seats using the center aisle.
* Toddlers not yet in school may also receive a gift. These younger children should go with their parent/guardian, using the same route as the older children.
* Please make sure that children wait until they get home to open their gifts. Once opened, it is hard to tell to who it belongs to, since there is no name on the gift.
[End of the Show]
* The Christmas Show’s ending remark will be after children singing KNI song. Please remain in the church until the end of the event, and join the song!
[Things to Be Taken Home]
* Hand-made Christmas ornament on the Christmas tree.
* Present from Santa Claus.
* The Christmas crafts the children made, which will be in the classroom. If your child is in more than one class, make sure you take a craft from each class s/he is enrolled in. We will post where each class’ crafts will be located.
* The crafts are difficult for the children to retrieve. Please make sure to help your child to get his/her crafts.
[Photo Shooting During the Event]
* Except KNI Video/Photo volunteers, photo shooting and/or video recording of the event are prohibited during performance. Please do not take photos standing from your seat, from the aisle, or in front of the stage.
* We have a small window of time for the photo shooting after each performance. In order for everyone to be able to take photos, please go back to your seat using the side aisle promptly when you are done. Thank you for your cooperation.
* Photos that are taken by the volunteers will be available for download. The link will be sent in the days to follow.
[Picture Taking Day]
* On the day of the event, we encourage families to focus on enjoying the children’s performance and greeting them with your rapt attention and warm applause. To this end we strictly prohibit photography and videography during performance. Instead, we invite parents to come to the final dress rehearsal to take as many picture and video as you wish. We encourage children to dress up on this last rehearsal so parents can take photos and video.

3. From Mochi Festival Committee

* At 2 o’clock, there will be a Taiko performance. There will be no mochi making during the performance.
* In the event of rain, the mochi festival will take place in the church hall. The Taiko festival may be canceled or, if possible, the performance may take place on stage.
* We would love for the mochi festival to be well attended. Please advertise this fun Japanese cultural event by posting flyers at your child’s local school. Make sure to invite friends and family!
